Sundays are usually my movie day with my brother. Today we decided to watch Ben-Hur with our aunt. It's my second time to watch Ben-Hur. (click here to read more about the movie)
After mass, we went around Power plant mall to find a restaurant. Since its dinner time, the restaurants we were craving were full. Then we passed by Boon Tong Kee. Luckily, there were still available seats for us.
They gave us free serving of Kropek (Prawn Crackers) and soup.

It's a little too oily for my taste but it tastes well paired with the Hainanese sauce.

I have a feeling that it is chicken broth. Its a good way to keep the tummy warm as we wait for the dishes to be served.
Chicken Rice (Php65)
☆☆☆

Doesn't the presentation look good? It looks like a pyramid. Although the serving is a little small. But for someone like me who is trying (and failing) to cut down on carbs, this serving is enough. I mixed my rice with the ginger Hainanese sauce.
Boiled Chicken Half (Php 455)

Beef Tenderloin with Roasted Garlic in Zhen Jiang sauce (Php295)
☆☆☆☆

I find this a little too salty but it is still delicious. I think I should request them to lessen the salt or something the next time I order this dish.
Laksa (Php345)
☆☆☆☆

Most of the time, I find laksa super spicy. Although I have a mild tolerance for spicy food so I am not a good judge for spicy food. But good thing, the laksa they serve isn't that spicy. It does have a kick of spiciness but I was able to handle it. I like their noodles. It taste like egg noodles, but I was unable to ask the waiter about it.
They even served us with extra soup. It's placed in the tea pot.

Boon Tong Kee dishes tastes good but I feel that there's still room for improvement. I don't think its one of the restaurants which I will eventually crave for but I'm sure this isn't the last time I'd be going to the restaurant.
